“YOU ARE NEVER TO OLD TO SET ANOTHER GOAL OR TO DREAM ANOTHER DREAM."

Last night, I had the incredible honor of being inducted into the Midpark High School Hall of Fame.
When I received the call several months ago informing me of the selection committee’s decision, an overwhelming sense of gratitude came over me and I became quite emotional.

My years at Midpark High School were some of the most exciting and formative years of my life. For me it was a place to discover, explore and challenge myself.
As a student, I was involved in as many things as I could possibly schedule, a trait I still have today. From fast pitch softball and basketball to performing in the Midpark Magic show choir, joining Student Council to becoming the Yearbook Editor and participating in Musical Theater, I learned whatever it was that I wanted to try, if I put my heart, sweat, passion blood and sometimes tears into it, I could and would make it happen.
And when I had doubts, it was my teachers, my guidance counselors, principal, my family and friends who made me believe that anything was, and to this day, still is possible.
I’ve had some very unique and once in a lifetime opportunities on the local, national and international stages. These are opportunities that I sincerely believe were made possible because of the foundation built while a student at Midpark High School.
In many ways, I don’t feel as though I deserve this recognition yet it’s the same people who believe I do that have helped shaped me into the wife, mother, broadcaster, small business owner and mentor that I am today.

This by far is one of the greatest honors I’ve received.

I am so thankful for the selection committee, my teachers, mentors, coaches, my husband Michael, my mom Maryann who was able join me at the event, my dad, Paul who I’m sure was and still is beaming with pride up in heaven, my brothers Jaret and Ryan and my aunts and uncles for always believing in me and for supporting my wild dreams.
C. S. Lewis wrote, “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream another dream.”
And as my dad would’ve said, “This is just another stepping stone…"
I look forward to continuing to be a shining example of my Alma Mater and a positive representation of the Berea City School District.
With love and sincere appreciation,
