How is My NICU Baby Already 8?
This week, we celebrated my son Roman's 8th birthday. This little guy has a heart of gold, sick moves on the court (those are his words) and is quite the charmer. He also loves shoes and “cool” clothes which is kinda fun when you own a store but have only sons! 😜
I think back on his abrupt arrival, born at 28 weeks weighing a whopping 2 lbs. 12 oz. and I’m reminded how much stronger my husband and I are because of him.
It’s kind of a nice reminder that whatever is thrown your way, you will get through it. Really. It doesn’t seem like it at the time...but you will get through it.
Roman was in the hospital for 2 months and I had a 22-month-old at home. I remember crying as I would drive back and forth to the hospital because I was leaving one baby to see another. I remember feeling so low thinking there was no way I was going to be able to get through this. Yet, here we are 8 years later.
If there’s something that you’re dealing with...at work, at school, emotionally, physically, call on the people who have offered to help. I know, it’s hard sometimes to ask for help. In fact, I personally am terrible at asking for help. But girls, they’re there for a reason and they will help you get through it.
